New Job, 7.25
While there’s been some things happening this June, the biggest thing is that I accepted a role as Technology Creative Director for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles. (Yes, that’s a mouthful.) I’ve been performing much of this role as a freelance contractor since last November, but now its real. I’m so grateful and excited about the opportunity, learning a lot, and being part of a large team.
It had been months since I spent any real time in the garage working on a project. I took advantage of the long 4th of July weekend to put together this rustic quilt ladder. I bought some aspen sticks while in UT at the Roundup with this in mind. Now our quilts have a place to hang out. I definitely draw some correlation between accepting the new job role and feeling like taking on a new garage project.
I’ve been doing a bit of carving, mostly practice pieces and working on faces. These fun ‘little whittles’ are all about 2-1/2” tall and carved from 1-1/2” basswood stock.
For Beth’s birthday we went to the Pirates Dinner Adventure. Sadly, our pirate didn’t win, but it was a good night together with fun entertainment.
