We’ve been in a kind of perpetual waiting/frustrating period with a bathroom remodel. Excited to start and we had everything picked out. The day before demo was scheduled to start, we heard that the permit couldn’t be had. That began countless calls to City, County and State organizations trying to find out details. Our neighborhood (about 200 homes) is kind of lost in a limbo-land dating back to its construction in the early 80’s. We now have a permit (thank God) and the demo is scheduled for next week, so in a few weeks we’ll have a brand new bathroom. That took up lots of emotional energy over the last month+ and I look forward to sharing pics in my next post.
Aside from that, I’ve been doing a little bit of carving, busy at work-work with new projects, a bit of freelance photography, niece’s sportsball games and squeezed in an overdue camping trip.
While this may look like it was written in utter frustration, sadly this is my handwriting, lol. If only Mr. Lane had known that keeping me in from recess to practice handwriting was a poor investment in time. We dealt with a fair amount of misinformation, inaccuracy, ineptitude and bureaucracy before finally gaining traction.
I did take a bit of a break from carving for a week or two and build some LEGO. It was a nice change and I took them into my little studio to shoot something just for fun. These kits capture the original supercar vibes nicely.
Working on getting a little more movement in my Big Backpack Gnomes.
Caught one of our youngest niece’s soccer (herdball) game and took some shots with the R5 and a 70-200L via the RF/EF adaptor.
A peek into my shoebox studio. Post-holiday I’ll be able to share some teasers from this photo series.
Camping at Pismo with a few guys from the SoCal TLCA (Toyota Land Cruiser Association.) Weather was pretty nice and I was there a day+ before the others showed up. Nice to have a bit of recharge time, then time around the campfire and out in the dunes with friends.
