Into the New Year, 01.26

The last couple of months have gone by pretty fast. Beth and I spent Thanksgiving week up in Modesto with my folks and sister. I got to catch up with several of my hometown buddies. A bathroom remodel wrapped up just prior to that - which was a bit of a stressful endeavour throughout. Permits, scheduling, installation issues, etc. Thankfully the floor under the tub was solid and we didn’t have any water damage or mold - which was a concern. We stayed local for Christmas with Beth’s sister and her family, then Rachael came down to stay with us for a few days so her and Beth spent time at Disneyland.

Work is going well with some big projects successfully completed and headed into new ones that are good learning challenges for the entire team. The most interesting one is a mobile user interface design and really putting the user front and center in our mind. I wrapped up a freelance photography project for a client and we’re kicking off plans for their next campaign shortly. Nice to have that for some variety and the money from those projects is going into the house as its due for roof and siding, super thankful for all of that.

Beth and I spent a day in DTLA at the Broad Museum and then a fun dinner at a place called Mrs. Fish, tasty food and the place is loaded with Japanese Modern Art. It was a nice belated birthday.

We love her, but she can test our patience - what kind of dog doesn’t eat?

I really enjoyed seeing the Roger Lichtenstein pieces up close . I don’t think I’d ever seen them in person before. So clean and contrasty.
