Work, Carve, 04.26

It’s been a busy last month-ish. Work-work has been really good, and still doing freelance work as I can - some sunglass photography and wrapping up a 450-page digest-sized project for some old friends.

Beth and I got to take in a comedian at the Anaheim Grove, was nice to get out of our routine.

I’ll be headed to the Rocky Mountain Carvers Roundup in May, and have been working on a big carving to take to that. I’ll also enter it in our fair here. A few pics of that carving shown below, with many more here.

On the homefront we had some work done in the back yard to remove all the rock (river rock and pea gravel), a large plant, and a mountain of dirt. Makes the back yard feel a lot bigger. We’ll likely do decomposed granite (DG) back there sometime, but for now its easy to take care of. I finally got around to cutting steps into one side of our hill so its more accessible and marginally safer. Along the way, we found mystery box buried. Surprise, it was full of…nothing. I suppose that’s not a bad thing, and it made for a suspenseful afternoon. That’s it, short and sweet this time around.

Long overdue, I spent most of a sunday on this fun little illustration.
