Yardwork & Roundup, 06.26
May took me to the Rocky Mountain Carvers Roundup for five days of carving with instructors from around the US. Such a great learning opportunity and the chance to meet and make friends. I carved with Joe You, Roger Stegall, Jim Hiser, Mitch Cartledge, and Ryan Olsen. I took my “The Quest ‘26” carving for the carver’s showcase and won the “People’s Choice” and the Caricature Carvers of America “Merit Award”. Really excited about that one, that carving will be going to their annual show.
On the way to that event, I attended the celebration of life for Dr. Ben Jones in Lone Pine. Glad I made it and it was nice to see friends from another life despite the reason.
Have done some minor yard projects here at home, added some pavers around our tree out front and put in more rosemary and drip for it in the back yard. That’s coming along slowly but surely.
Last update for this post was a quick camping trip up to Holcomb Valley. Nice weather and a couple days of practice carving.
My finished carvings from the roundup, plus a photo with the CCA Merit Award. :)
Memory collage for Badwater Ben Jones
Little bit of yard work. Looking forward to see the rosemary really come in.
And lastly, fixing a couple of Gabby’s favorite friends…
